There are a huge number of sports teams at GKT, with more being added regularly, browse the tabs and get involved!
Welcome to Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ Football Club, the finest football club in the world.
Named after the hospitals from whence it was founded, many, many moons ago, the club has a rich and successful history. It is with pride that we pull on the blue and gold jersey, each game, in pursuit of further glory. We endeavour to regain the United Hospitals Cup, from bitter rivals, RUMS, this season, whilst retaining the Trophy and Vase to achieve our goal of total UH domination, once again.
We have 5 teams. Each of which, train on Mondays and play matches on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We are always looking to improve, so if you want to play football, get in touch and we will arrange to see you at training.
The quality of our football is surpassed, only, by the quality of our socials. Off the field, it is an age old tradition at Guy’s, King’s, and St. Thomas’ Football Club, the finest football club in the world, that, should you do anything good, bad, or… you shall be ‘rewarded’ with a measure of the Queen’s finest juniper juice. Weekly Wednesday socials are our bread and butter; there’s nothing like a ‘few’ pints and some weak banter for team bonding. Fresher’s tour, Christmas Old Boys’ tournament and AGM are a few big ones, not to be missed.

A club for Guy’s Campus.
Wether you are an experienced hockey player looking to improve by playing at the highest university level, or are looking to start a new sport and meet people outside your course, our club will cater for your needs.
Having three men’s teams ensures that players can play at their appropriate level and enjoy competitive hockey during the week – the perfect break from lectures. We also have an established mixed team with regular friendlies and several tours throughout the year.
Our nature of being a campus team means that we recognise the time commitments of students and provide a fantastic opportunity to socialise with like-minded individuals and people who you wouldn’t otherwise get a chance to meet. You never know, it might be quite useful to meet older students from your course!
And what about the social life? With our club being the largest on campus, Wednesday nights in Guy’s Bar are a highlight of the week. Here you will mingle with your team and members of other sports clubs after a long day of hockey. We also have various other socials organised throughout the year and our annual Fresher’s Tour is one of the biggest events of the calendar, with previous destinations including Manchester, Berlin and Newcastle.
Have a look around our website (www.gkthockeyclub.co.uk) and get a feel for the club. Training is on a Monday night at our home pitch of Honor Oak Park and we play matches on Wednesdays and Sundays. If you have any questions then please contact us by emailing our club captain, Vikram Vignaraja, at email@example.com, and don’t forget to follow us on twitter @gkthockey.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
GKT Men’s Hockey Club
GKT Men’s Rugby Club is not only the oldest GKT sports team, but in fact the oldest rugby club in the world. This great history is something we are hugely proud of, but it doesn’t mean we don’t take a modern approach to how we run our team. We no longer just take students studying “Healthcare” courses, encouraging players from all courses and of all abilities to join us and become a part of the history of our club.
We have 2 teams playing regular rugby on Wednesdays (BUCS) and Saturdays (Kent League, NAMs and the UH Cup), mainly at our brand new sports facilities at Honor Oak Park. This leads to an unrivalled opportunity to immerse yourself in rugby and means that everyone, regardless of experience, will get frequent game time throughout the season. This inclusive atmosphere is what makes us stick out over other clubs of a similar nature at King’s and has allowed us to flourish in recent years. A victory in the final of the United Hospitals Cup last year is one of many achievements which comes to mind. We understand the difficulty of maintaining a high standard of rugby alongside university studies, and recognise this with £3000 worth of bursaries for players who show commitment and promise on and off the field.
It’s not all about the rugby though, we also pride ourselves on our buzzing social scene. Our 3 Social Secs for 2015 have been busy concocting highly covert plans for the year ahead that are sure to be jam-packed with oriGINality. For a first taste of our social scene come along to our GKT Touch Tournament on the 17th at Tabard Gardens, and more importantly attend our FRESHERS TRIALS on 23rd September (Meet at Boland House @ 12pm)! We also have 2 tours to mystery locations and regularly frequent the famous Guy’s Bar for a few quiet ones on a Wednesday evening.
If you like what you see join our Facebook group: ‘GKT Rugby Freshers 2015-2016’ for more information.
Any questions can be directed to Club Captain Arjun Desai (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Honorary Secretary Daniel-Clement Osei-Bordom (email@example.com).”
GKT (Mens) Cricket Club is one of the most successful university cricket teams in London. We have a 1st and 2nd XI which compete in a number of different competitions. Last year the 1st XI team won the UH (University Hospital) Trophy, which features all the medical schools in London. We also play in ULU and have a end of season T20 competition. Our 2nd XI came runners up last year in ULU and also take part in BUCS.
Our nets sessions run at the Oval Cricket Ground every Sunday until March, which is open to students of all abilities.
We love our cricket but also love to enjoy ourselves and have a good time. Throughout the year there will be a number of socials where you can meet the committee and get to know other cricketers
